Diabetes mellitus is one of the most common diseases of the endocrine system of the human body, and the increase in its incidence in different age groups is growing every year. The occurrence of complications of diabetes mellitus very often leads to disability of patients. It is almost impossible to completely recover from Type 1 diabetes. Numerous studies have established that in Type 1 diabetes mellitus, both in children and adults, there is always a dental pathology caused by the presence of this disease. The purpose of our work. Study of the state of oral tissues in children suffering from Type 1 diabetes in the dynamics of using the therapeutic and preventive complex developed by us. Research materials and methods. We examined and treated 53 children with Type 1 diabetes who lived in an orphanage with endocrine pathology, the treatment and Prevention complex proposed by us, and also examined 12 practically healthy children of the same age. The comparison group consisted of 24 children with diabetes and who underwent only oral sanitation and oral hygiene. 29 children of the main group, in addition to oral sanitation and hygiene, were prescribed the proposed treatment and Prevention complex, which was carried out in stages as follows in stages. Results and their discussion. To assess the state of the hygienic level and periodontal condition, we studied hygiene indices (Silness-Loe, Stallard) as well as indices indicating inflammation (PMA,), both at the beginning and during the period of application of the proposed complex. The level of oral hygiene in the children we examined indicates insufficient preventive work. Thus, the level of hygiene was unsatisfactory in 68.9 % of children, and only 31.1% of children were satisfied. The prevalence of the inflammatory symptom in groups was up to 20 %. Conclusions. The conducted clinical studies showed that for 2 years of observation, we received a reduction in caries by an increase of 48.3 %, which indicates a significant caries-preventive effectiveness of the treatment and Prevention complex proposed by us for children with Type 1 diabetes mellitus
